    Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leancă meets representatives of Moldovan diaspora in Dublin, Ireland

    On December 6, 2012, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Iurie Leancă, had a meeting in Dublin with members of the Bassarabian Community in Ireland. The event was also attended by the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Eugen Carpov, and Mr. Iualian Fruntaşu, the Moldovan Ambassador to Ireland resident in London.

    The Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Leancă informed the audience about the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova and its efforts to implement the necessary reforms in various fields: legislative, economic, social, the reform of the judiciary system, the fight against corruption, the latest evolutions on the Transnistrian problem, etc. The official mentioned that the Moldovan citizens will benefit from a liberalized visa regime with the EU countries starting with 2014.

    The round of questions and answers at the end of the meeting included a large number of issues of concern to the Moldovan nationals residing in Ireland, among which subjects of national and international interest, as well as daily problems they are facing while living in Ireland.

      The Republic of Moldova has received the title of the "World Capital of Wine Tourism in 2018", in the context of hosting, for the first time, and under the aegis of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), of the III-rd edition of the Global Conference on Wine Tourism, in the period September 20-23, 2018.

    • British actor awarded for his work in Moldova

      Tony Hawks, the British actor and comedian, was awarded the British Empire Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his support for children with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova, as well as of all support provided by the Tony Hawks Centre in Chisinau.

    • Announcement

      On 22 August, Vilen Murzac, Charge d`affaires a.i., visited Spanish Embassy in London and expressed full solidarity with the Spanish colleagues, on the occasion of the appauling terrorist acts commited in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017. Mr Murzac signed the book of condolences in memory of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks.
