    25 years of Moldovan-British diplomatic relations

    On 17th of January 2017, the Republic of Moldova and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland are celebrating 25 years of diplomatic relations. With this occasion, Foreign ministers of Moldova Andrei Galbur, and the United Kingdom Boris Johnson, exchanged congratulatory messages.

    Minister Andrei Galbur highly appreciated the 25 years of cooperation between the two countries – a period that have recorded impressive and concrete results in various fields. In his message, the official has highlighted the importance of assistance that Moldova has received from Britain in its endeavors to build strong democratic institutions and to develop an enabling environment for a sustainable and more equitable economic growth.

    State Secretary Boris Johnson welcomed the Moldovan government's desire to implement the ambitious program of economic and democratic reforms, mentioning the opportunity to provide assistance by UK in this sense and, in finding a sustainable solution to the Transnistrian conflict settlement.

    Also, today, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lilian Darii and the Ambassador of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland Lucy Rebecca Joyce, participated at the official launching of the stamp with special obliteration and the envelope with the representation of 50 countries with which Moldova marks the 25th diplomatic anniversaries. The event took place at the Moldovan Post Office.

    Moldova has established diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on 17 January 1992.


    • Global Conference on Wine Tourism

      The Republic of Moldova has received the title of the "World Capital of Wine Tourism in 2018", in the context of hosting, for the first time, and under the aegis of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), of the III-rd edition of the Global Conference on Wine Tourism, in the period September 20-23, 2018.

    • British actor awarded for his work in Moldova

      Tony Hawks, the British actor and comedian, was awarded the British Empire Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his support for children with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova, as well as of all support provided by the Tony Hawks Centre in Chisinau.

    • Announcement

      On 22 August, Vilen Murzac, Charge d`affaires a.i., visited Spanish Embassy in London and expressed full solidarity with the Spanish colleagues, on the occasion of the appauling terrorist acts commited in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017. Mr Murzac signed the book of condolences in memory of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks.
