    IMO 70th anniversary

    IMO 70th anniversary

    The International Maritime Organization (IMO) celebrated its 70th anniversary with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 6th March 2018, at IMO Headquarters in London. It was unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark the date when the IMO Convention was adopted.

    On this occasion, the Embassy has the honour to extend its warmest greetings to the International Maritime Organization which is the global standard-setting authority for the safety and security of shipping and the prevention of pollution by ships.

    N.B. IMO today has 173 Member States. The Republic of Moldova became a member of the IMO in 2001.


    • Global Conference on Wine Tourism

      The Republic of Moldova has received the title of the "World Capital of Wine Tourism in 2018", in the context of hosting, for the first time, and under the aegis of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), of the III-rd edition of the Global Conference on Wine Tourism, in the period September 20-23, 2018.

    • British actor awarded for his work in Moldova

      Tony Hawks, the British actor and comedian, was awarded the British Empire Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his support for children with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova, as well as of all support provided by the Tony Hawks Centre in Chisinau.

    • Announcement

      On 22 August, Vilen Murzac, Charge d`affaires a.i., visited Spanish Embassy in London and expressed full solidarity with the Spanish colleagues, on the occasion of the appauling terrorist acts commited in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017. Mr Murzac signed the book of condolences in memory of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks.
