    Meeting with the Honorary Consul of Moldova to Mauritius

    On 28 June, Charge d`affaires a.i. of the Embassy, Mr Vilen Murzac held a meeting with Mr. Rikesh Ballah, the Honorary Consul of Republic of Moldova to Mauritius, based in Ebene.

    Discussions were mainly focused on the activity of the Honorary Consulate, being identified the need to create trade and economic partnerships between businessmen from the two states. A special attention in the activity of the Consulate will be paid to the necessary assistance of the Moldovan citizens who are not only in Mauritius but also in the nearby African states.

    Promoting the interests of the Republic of Moldova in the investment, technical and cultural fields was also encouraged.

    It is worth mentioning that the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Mauritius were established on 25 June 2001.

    • Global Conference on Wine Tourism

      The Republic of Moldova has received the title of the "World Capital of Wine Tourism in 2018", in the context of hosting, for the first time, and under the aegis of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), of the III-rd edition of the Global Conference on Wine Tourism, in the period September 20-23, 2018.



    • British actor awarded for his work in Moldova

      Tony Hawks, the British actor and comedian, was awarded the British Empire Medal by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his support for children with disabilities in the Republic of Moldova, as well as of all support provided by the Tony Hawks Centre in Chisinau.



    • Announcement

      On 22 August, Vilen Murzac, Charge d`affaires a.i., visited Spanish Embassy in London and expressed full solidarity with the Spanish colleagues, on the occasion of the appauling terrorist acts commited in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017. Mr Murzac signed the book of condolences in memory of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks.
