The Republic of Moldova was elected to the Committee for Programme and Coordination and Commission for Social Development
On 19 April 2017, the Republic of Moldova was elected, for a term of three years, to the Committee for Programme and Coordination (2018-2020) and Commission for Social Development (2017-2019).

The elections took place during the current session of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).  All participating member states of the ECOSOC voted in favour of the candidature of the Republic of Moldova to the aforementioned two UN elective bodies.

Note: The Committee for Programme and Coordination is the main subsidiary organ of the Economic and Social Council and the UN General Assembly for planning, programming and coordination.

The Commission for Social Development is a functional body of the ECOSOC that examines and promotes policies in the field of social development as part of the follow up to the outcome of the Copenhagen Summit for Social Development (1995).
