Foreign Minister Andrei Galbur met with Swiss counterpart, Didier Burkhalter
In the sidelines of the 127th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, held in in Nicosia, Cyprus, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Andrei Galbur, had a meeting with the Head of the Federal Department on Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, member of the Federal Council, Didier Burkhalter.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the current state of bilateral relations, the agenda of the political dialogue, trade and economic cooperation and the future Cooperation Strategy between Switzerland and the Republic of Moldova for the years 2018-2021.

Minister Galbur expressed gratitude to his Swiss counterpart for the productive work of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Moldova, as well for the political and technical support extended over the last 16 years. Having in mind the preparation of the next cycle of Swiss assistance to Moldova, he particularly underscored the Moldovan interest in diversifying the areas of intervention in the future framework of assistance and technical cooperation (2018-2021).

The head of Swiss diplomacy reaffirmed his country’s availability to continue to support the Republic of Moldova in its efforts to modernize, in line with European standards.

The two officials also discussed issues related to specific cooperation and mutual support within the international organizations, particularly the OSCE and UN.

    Vilen Murzac, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., had a meeting with Mr. John O'Sullivan, Acting Director of the Division for Policy and Eastern Partnership of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, and Ms Joanne King, Deputy Director of the Division, on February 10, 2017



  • Visit of the Speaker of the Republic of Moldova in Ireland

    Mr. Andrian Candu, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, paid a working visit to Ireland, in the period 9-10 February 2017.

  • Moldovan Rock Band, Zdob si Zdub, will hold a concert in London

    Their first Eurovision experience is Moldova’s debut in the Contest, dating back to 2005. At the 50th edition Zdob si Zdub represented their country with the song "Boonika Bate Doba”, placed 6th in the Final.
