Deputy Foreign Minister Lilian Darii received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Beheshti Monfared

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Lilian Darii received today, 11 July 2017, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Moldova, with residence in Kiev, Mohammad Beheshti Monfared.

During the meeting, the two diplomats reviewed the current state of bilateral relations, highlighting the imperative of deepening them by exploring and capitalizing on the potential of cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The possibilities of bilateral visits and the resumption of work of the Moldovan-Iranian Intergovernmental commission for economic, trade and technical-scientific cooperation were also discussed.

The interlocutors noted that in 2017, the two countries mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Islamic Republic of Iran, mentioning that this occasion is a good opportunity to boost bilateral co-operation.

  • On the terror attack in London

    The Embassy condemns the hideous terror attack committed on 22 March in London. We express our solidarity and support to the British authorities and our sincere sympathy for the victims of the attack and their families and wish them full and speedy recovery.



  • Development of cooperation with Ireland

    Vilen Murzac, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., had a meeting with Mr. John O'Sullivan, Acting Director of the Division for Policy and Eastern Partnership of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, and Ms Joanne King, Deputy Director of the Division, on February 10, 2017



  • Visit of the Speaker of the Republic of Moldova in Ireland

    Mr. Andrian Candu, Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, paid a working visit to Ireland, in the period 9-10 February 2017.

  • Moldovan Rock Band, Zdob si Zdub, will hold a concert in London

    Their first Eurovision experience is Moldova’s debut in the Contest, dating back to 2005. At the 50th edition Zdob si Zdub represented their country with the song "Boonika Bate Doba”, placed 6th in the Final.
