Deputy Foreign Minister Lilian Darii met the new UNICEF Representative, Desiree Jongsma
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Lilian Darii, had a meeting today, 12 September 2017, with the new Representative of UNICEF in the Republic of Moldova, Desiree Jongsma, on the occasion of the presentation of Cabinet Letters.
 
Deputy Minister Darii assured the UNICEF Representative in the Republic of Moldova of all the support in carrying out her mandate.

The Moldovan official expressed his belief that the UNICEF Country Program for the years 2018-2022 would be successfully implemented. At the same time, he stressed the interest of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to cooperate effectively with UNICEF for the realization of projects of common interest, including in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.

For her part, Desiree Jongsma assured that the UNICEF country team would support the Government's agenda in the field of child protection and implementation of Sustainable Development Goals relevant to this issue.

    On 22 August, Vilen Murzac, Charge d`affaires a.i., visited Spanish Embassy in London and expressed full solidarity with the Spanish colleagues, on the occasion of the appauling terrorist acts commited in Barcelona and Cambrils on 17 August 2017. Mr Murzac signed the book of condolences in memory of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to those injured in the attacks.

  • Moldovan Rock Band, Zdob si Zdub, will hold a concert in London

    Their first Eurovision experience is Moldova’s debut in the Contest, dating back to 2005. At the 50th edition Zdob si Zdub represented their country with the song "Boonika Bate Doba”, placed 6th in the Final.
