Daniela Morari: The Republic of Moldova reiterates its commitment to contribute to the implementation of the priorities agreed at the EaP Summit
March 12, Brussels – The Republic of Moldova reiterates its interest and commitment to contribute to the implementation of the priorities agreed at the Eastern Partnership Summit of November 2017. The statement was made by the State Secretary for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova, Daniela Morari, at the high-level conference dedicated to the launch of the new multilateral architecture of the Eastern Partnership, which took place in Brussels.


At the meeting, the Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn, expressed his confidence that the new architecture will facilitate the delivery of concrete results for the benefit of citizens. According to the Commissioner, 2018 must become the year of achieving progresses and raising the visibility of the European Union.

During the discussions, State Secretary Daniela Morari reiterated the interest and commitment of the Republic of Moldova to contribute to the implementation of the priorities agreed in the framework of the Eastern Partnership Summit. State Secretary highlighted that „the Republic of Moldova will draw particular attention to the reform of the public administration, to the promotion of the interconnection projects with the EU in the energy and transport (TEN-T) sector, to stimulate trade with the EU and attract investments, to develop projects for youth ".  Also, State Secretary noted that „more attention needs to be given to the cooperation in the security field, in particular in the CSDP sphere”. Furthermore, the Moldovan official underlined the important role of the civil society in implementing reforms and strategic communication.

The event was attended by senior officials of the Eastern Partnership countries, European institutions, European Union member states, as well as representatives of civil society.

On the same day, State Secretary Daniela Morari attended the Eastern Partnership senior officials’ meeting, during which practical aspects regarding the functioning of the new multilateral architecture of the Eastern Partnership were discussed.

Note: The multilateral architecture of the Eastern Partnership consists of Summits, ministerial meetings, senior officials’ meetings, four sectoral Platforms and twelve thematic Panels. At the Platforms and Panels meetings, representatives from the relevant authorities of the Eastern Partnership countries, European Institutions and EU Member States discuss cooperation projects and share significant experience in implementing the reforms.  At the Eastern Partnership Summit of November 24, 2017, the multilateral architecture, especially Platforms and Panels, was adjusted for the effective implementation of the Eastern Partnership 20 key deliverables for 2020.
